Job description

As the Head of Operations for our leading courier company in Uzbekistan, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing the end-to-end operational processes. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the efficient and timely delivery of parcels, while maintaining the highest standards of service quality. You will be responsible for managing a diverse team, streamlining workflows, implementing strategic initiatives, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership:

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the operations team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and standards to enhance overall efficiency and service quality.
  • Build and manage company’s service delivery processes for all lines of business, such as courier delivery, pick up points and lockers

Team Management:

  • Build and lead a high-performing operations team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to team members, promoting professional development and job satisfaction.

Process Optimization:

  • Continuously evaluate and enhance operational workflows to drive efficiency, cost-effectiveness and service quality
  • Implement technology solutions and automation to streamline processes and improve overall operational performance.

Quality Assurance:

  • Establish and maintain quality control measures to ensure accurate and on-time delivery of parcels.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions to address any deviations from established standards.

Logistics and Supply Chain Management:

  • Oversee the logistics and supply chain functions, optimizing routes and transportation methods to minimize costs and maximize efficiency.
  • Collaborate with vendors and partners to enhance the overall logistics network.

Customer Experience:

  • Work closely with customer service teams to address customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints, ensuring a positive customer experience.
  • Implement strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Budgeting and Cost Control:

  • Develop and manage the operations budget, ensuring effective cost control measures.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising service quality.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Mitigate operational risks by implementing robust risk management strategies.

Job requirements

  • Fluent in English and Russian language, Uzbek will be an advantage
  • Proven experience in top management positions for at least 3 years (courier, logistics, 3PL, 4PL companies), with experience in managing the operational activities of a company in the country.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams towards shared goals and objectives.
  • In-depth knowledge of logistics, supply chain management, and courier operations.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships.
